Introduction

With optimism about the rapid development of the medical industry and increasing demands for standard power supplies, MEAN WELL is releasing the new 500W high power density RPS-500 series in order to fulfill the demands for higher power open frame solutions for medical electronics. In addition to the already released 30/45/60/65/75/120/160/200/300/400W products within the RPS product family, the RPS-500 expands MEAN WELL’s 5”x3” medical grade product offering up to 500W. RPS-500 series comes with options for multiple form factors, including bare PCB (RPS-500), fanless covered (RPS-500-C), as well as chassis mount with built-in fans (top fan: RPS-500-TF; side fan: RPS-500-SF). With the various optional offerings, MEAN WELL is able to provide new standard power solutions for many different medical applications. The RPS-500 variants are all certified to the latest medical safeties such as IEC60601-1, ANSI/AAMI ES60601-1, and TUV EN60601-1. With 2xMOPP isolation level and ultra-low leakage current (<190uA), the RPS-500 is suitable for Type BF medical applications. The RPS-500 is able to perform exceedingly well in different types of treatment, diagnostic, laboratory, monitoring, and medical robotics applications.
