The Shimano XTR RD-M9100 rear derailleur features an elegant yet aggressive angled design and attractively anodized aluminium surfaces. Large guide and tension pulleys with 13 instead of 11 teeth provide improved shifting performance. These contribute to the improvement of chain stabilization as well as the Shadow RD+ design with friction dampers. In the small gears, a lower preload ensures that excessive chain tension is avoided. An additional stop on the rocker arm ensures a low-noise drive. The XTR 9100 rear derailleur's medium version features 28 mm more ground clearance than the long version.
